with Heather Moffett at East Leigh Farm, near Totnes, South Devon

Heather offers 3 and 5 day courses where you bring your own horse to East Leigh Farm, Heather’s yard in South Devon. Arrive usually on the Sunday afternoon for the 5 day courses and Tuesday afternoon for the 3 day courses. You will have one lesson daily with Heather, on your own horse, plus work on the Equisimulators, and in hand training with your own horse. Students are welcome to stay and watch the other horses being worked, or if wished, take time out to go to the beaches some 10 miles away, or to Dartmoor, only 4 miles from the nearest entrance.

Accommodation and food for the rider is not provided but there is excellent bed and breakfast as close as next door and overlooking the indoor school, with several more within a mile radius.

Cost is £100 per day, which when you consider lessons with Heather are £60 an hour on your own horse or the simulators, this is a saving on single lessons too.

​

DIY livery for your horse is £12.50 a day including straw and excellent dry haylage. East Leigh has excellent stabling, an indoor school and 60m x 20m outdoor school, and is set in 30 acres.

All levels are catered for, so don’t be put off if you are a novice rider! It would also be possible to arrange a lesson or two on schoolmasters (for an additional charge to cover the cost of horse/school hire) as we tie up with a nearby friend’s riding school, where she has some nice horses and is an EE teacher herself.
