  • This list was compiled by a hoof care practitioner in Australia. It is pretty comprehensive.

Enlightened Equitation does not take responsibility for any of the content.

This is a list of resources available on the internet for people to use at their own discretion.

I haven't read all of them so if there is anything in them which causes a forum member concern, please let a moderator know.

Keeping a list like this up to date is difficult - if any of the links don't work or a page has moved, please let me know. Similarly, if you come accross site which you think should be on here, let me know and we can add it.

The regional links refer to Australia.

Examples of heartbars failing, trimming mistakes, damage from horseshoe nails, high heels and bars causing navicular syndrome, and using hairlines for correct hoof balancing. Registration is required to view the forum with an accompanying email to the address below, giving a brief outline of your interest in the AEPA. This board is for Equine Podiatry enthusiasts, so if that is not your cup of tea, there probably won't be much of interest for you. However, if it is something you are interested in please click on the above link.

If you do have problems accessing the AEPAUK forum during the registration process, please contact Justine on justine@aepauk.org giving your "real" name if you are using a pseudonym.

  • Hi guys,

I was reading the list of resources at the top, and thought, wow, this sounds familiar….

Then I realized, this was taken nearly word for word from my own website!

So I am the author of the Net Resources for this post! It was many years of hard work. I'm happy to share, as that was the purpose, but the sad thing is that, since it was created on my site, I do not have my own site address listed!!!

Here is the real list, on my links page at http://thehorseshoof.com
    Links page:
    http://thehorseshoof.com/links.html

This needs quite a bit of updating now, as most of it was built many years in the past. But all of the comments about the various sites are mine, personally!

The Horse's Hoof has been in existence since I first put it together in 2000, and we have published 52 quarterly magazines about barefoot horses so far.

    Thanks,
    Yvonne Welz

  • Hi Yvonne and welcome to EE  :)

The original poster had said it was from a hoof care practitioner in Australia, but it's good to be able to attribute it now to the correct person ... albeit a few years after the original post lol

  • Thank you nix!

I'm sure the Aussie hoof care practitioner is probably a friend, so all is good! It is interesting to find things you've written show up on the internet… I must confess, this has happened many times before (a bit more disconcerting if it is a whole article, though!)

I've been a long (long!) time fan of Enlightened Equitation and Heather. But for some reason, I never joined the forum till today!!
