We've just got back form the most fantastic long weekend in paradise  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy We stayed at Chark, Redmoor, near to Bodmin in a gorgeous cottage. Jenny and Clive Littleton own a dairy farm and have converted several barns into cosy cottages for holiday lets. Dogs are welcome, ours ran free with the farm dogs and you can take horses to stay too  Cheesy There are stables and turnout! Children also adore the farm and are welcome to help out  wink

Jenny has 4 horses/ponies, including a lovely Dales x Friesian mare called Jasmine that I was offered use of but there sadly wasn't time  :( http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i289/whispersmum1/EEcwall071.jpg

The spotty in the pic is called Billy and the little Welshie is La-La, both are in a petting area for children which also includes goats, guinea pigs and chickens, it really is heaven  cloud_nine http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i289/whispersmum1/ee4.jpg

The nearest beach is Polkerris which is one of my favouites from childhood, we also visited Par to let the dogs have a blast on the huge expanse of sand...that's where I'll hopefully ride next time  wink We also went to my other favourites of Hemmick and Caerhays, both near Mevagissey where I went to one of my favourite "witchy" shops  Cheesy

Chark is ideally situated to visit the North Coast too and we popped to Port Isaac and Padstow on Sunday. Here's the  link to their website http://www.chycor.co.uk/php/offsite/chycoroffsite.php?url=http://www.charkcountryholidays.co.uk&advert=http://www.chycor.co.uk/holiday-cottages-bodmin-chark I can't say enough good things about this place, it was the best holiday I've ever had and I can't wait to go back  Cheesy

about 1 hour away Trish - Bodmin is stunning, quite bleak at times and has its own little herd of wild Pones

About 15-20mins from Wadebridge, South of Bodmin  Cheesy

I wish I was there this morning...the frost here is a shock  Shocked I was in a long t-shirt out of the breeze yesterday and kids were paddling in the sea at Polkerris.

Now I'm awake I'll add a few more attractions of Chark... as well as the ponies, goats, guinea pigs, chickens (you can collect and eat the eggs) there are several walks around the farm and woods, Jenny gives cart rides with Jasmine, farm tours, bottle feeding of calves when available, an active badger sett, big trampoline with safety net, children's climbing frame, mini peddle tractors and nearby there is Lanhydrock House, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Bodmin Moor, The Camel Trail, plus the villages I've already mentioned.  wink Cheesy
