I had a lesson today (before I had to PTS my kitty) Mae was very distracted... I am glad my instructor could see her this way. She often behaves very well for me when she is watching...But today Mae was just LOOKING for excuses to be destracted. I worked on getting her attention back to me, and getting her to go around corners with out dropping her shoulder. It she was getting "out of control" I halted her and made her step to the outside before she was allowed to go around the corner...She caught on quickly...Then I had this supple horse in a nice frame, ears flopping out to the side and back to me Smiley We then trotted a ground poll and then cantered...SHe has the most lovely canter, rocking horse, looong stride. It was the best canter to date. She was in hand and rounding up, even rounding her back a little  and stepping under herself. And she was being very sensible.
So I leared that Maes back isnt hurting at all, she really just wants to stretch, but from now on she will do it on my terms (and I will giver her plenty of opportunity) And that she is still pretty immature mentaly. So I can handly that and now how to approach her better Smiley
Good lesson for me learned alot.

Rode to the top of the mountian behind my house yesterday for the first time in 4 years. I took it slow walking most of it an dgiving Mae plenty of breathers She seems fine and no worse for the wear but...I am a wee bit sore today. Said mare insisted on BOUNCING down the mountain the entire way. It was something between a walk and a trot, prancing and bouncing. When I got home and was crossing the yard, my mum looked out and said "my she has a bounce in her step" what an understatement. Mare was pleased with herself I do beleive Smiley
