I'm very new to the use of the Pehlam and have a few questions.  What are the different actions of a Mullen mouth Pelham vs a Jointed Pelham?  I've been using a Jointed Pelham, and am thinking about switching to the Mullen mouth.  I'm finding with the Jointed that there is really almost no curb chain action as the joint bends with rein pressure.

Second question -- what bit would be the best for long reining?  My mare is a very sensative,  American Saddlebred who I rescued and likes to throw her head in the air, drop her back,  and stare at any disturbance.  She long reins well, but I tried long reining with the Jointed Pehlam and oddly (at least to me) everytime I asked with the outside rein, she turned to the inside???

Thanks--

my reactive Tb longlines in a mullen mouth.  only bit she actually will accept.  She ate two rubber snaffles (1 of them a 3 joint happy mouth) and 1 metal egg butt.  The mullen mouth she likes and is not heavy or lugging.
