I have bought a lungeing cavesson for lungeing Linda. i do not want to use her bridle for lungeing, because i want to save her mouth.

I have never fitted a cavesson. I will put the noseband two fingers width under her cheek bone (? I do not rememnber the name).

How snug should be the noseband? I usually put two fingers width between the noseband and the skin? Will that be too much ???

it should be quite tight--hence the padding.

The nose should be tight enough so as not to slide at all.  The other strap which should be quite tight is the jaw strap, that is why it is lowered down the face--you can't tighten a throatlatch too much because you'll cut off the wind, but the jaw strap should be tight enough as to keep the straps from moving up to bother the eyes.

It is far kinder for it to be adjusted snugly and not move than to have the leverage and weight of the lungeline slide it around on their face.
