Hello, I'm so glad I visited you Trish, your horses are just beautiful, what happy, sensible animals, they're a credit to you.  Peanut can have a home with me anytime (well they all can if I can pay the airfare!)

Your riding has inspired me to get myself sorted with lessons properly this winter, my ickle nagging legs have got to go.  Iverzon tried his best to understand me, but my messages were far to many for him to decipher at times, but what a gentleman?  If someone had told me a year a go that I would just hop on a 4 year old stallion horse without a hat and ride without a care I wouldn't have believed them, but now I've done it and it was just lovely.

Good luck for the forthcoming weeks, moan on here as much as you like, we all understand the highs and lows of life.  Your horses will carry you through.

And don't forget if you ever fancy a big holiday, there is always a room for you in England and we'll find you of horses to play with too.  I'm sure other EE members would love to meet you as I did.

I just read that car sticker from the tack shop- "A woman's place is on a horse"  Cheesy   Now there's something to keep us all sane.

Thanks once again and I look forward to hearing your news.

this will be my last entry here -- i will be starting a *new* journal, which coincides with moving my horses to their new home.
(link: http://www.enlightenedequitation.com/membe...ic=12831&st=0&)

i did, however, want to write an account of my lesson with Stacy this past thursday, which was awesome.
briefly:  we did a lot of work with canter!  t/c/t transitions, to help build LB's balance.  my position is improving according to S, thank goodness.  however, we still have right lead issues when we start.
but! i now know it is due to imbalance on my & his part.  LB tends to curl his neck to the left, tilt his head slightly, and stiffen the opposing shoulder.  this throws him off-kilter - add ME to the equation, if i'm off-balance even a tiny bit, and we don't get it.  so we worked on bending, at walk & trot!  counter bending on the left rein, to change that habit he has of curling and to help build the opposing muslces.  S gave me some great exercises to do, spirals in counterbent, etc.  i've already forgotten some of them   (whoops!).  THAT is why i should keep my journal up to date!!! rolleyes
anyway, i got some very good work done  B) .  he felt wonderful/forward/willing/happy to do the work.  i love that feeling.  i look forward to recapturing it at our new place.....although it may take some time, as he has to become accustomed to the "new surroundings/new excitement" first.
but i will get it again -- that's the ultimate. Smiley
with this, i close this chapter!  wink

(& extend my sincere appreciation for being allowed to so selfishly use this space - THANK YOU Heather!)
