Hee hee

In 2 days we can 'look away' - I HAD to teach him this as he kept nipping and frisking me for treats.  It's so funny, he has a quick sniff of my pockets, then whisks his head the other way, with one beady eye on me, saying "See, I'm clever, I'm doing it, feed me!"  A few more days and I'm hoping there will be no pocket sniffing.

We can 'staaaand'  I can take a step or 2 away from him and he will stay - again, I had to as he was stalking me for food, he has to respect my space and realise he has to do something for a click and treat, and not just forcibly remove food from my pockets!

And today, we were beginning to lift the forefeet without swearing, leaning, ignoring, falling over!  Instead of taking 10 minutes to drag his hoof off of the floor, you can touch the heel with a little prompting and it is almost in your face!  By the way, he isn't in any pain with regard to stuggling to lift the feet, I've given him a full MOT and the concencus is he is a b****r rolleyes

Yay!  Now I just have to stay one step ahead of him

Sounds like you are really getting somewhere!!  Cheesy
I love teaching this way, it makes it so much fun! That the only problem now is staying one step in front, think you'd better start running Danni.

I know, he is a very smart little cookie, I'm such a beginner at this I hope I don't run out of 'stuff' to teach him!

But it's been such a breath of fresh air, he is having so much fun, and is enjoying his work again  And it's great to have something to do in the stall when the rain is horizontal  <_<
