Yesterday Woodz and I went to a Dressage comp, his first *proper* one in years. He loaded and travelled like an angel  thumbs Despite my friend getting us lost and ending up having 5 minutes to warm up  Shocked He was very excited but didn't spook at anything despite being in a strange place.

The test was er..interesting  laugh He couldn't contain himself and decided to canter in a walk-trot test...the poor girl who was reading the test made a few mistakes because she was so nervous of getting it right for me! Despite all this we came a respectable 7th with a score of 62.14%, there were affiliated horses in my class so I'm proud of him, he was getting mainly 6s and 7s despite being excited, sticking his hooves in his ears, and cantering  laugh The judges last comments were that he has lots of potential and marks would have been higher if he wasn't so tense and that is was well ridden  Embarrassed (probably means well done for not falling off  laugh )

Hopefully next month he will be more settled as it's not such a strange place for him. I actually liked that he was so excited by it in a way as he obviously still has a lot of interest in going to parties and being ridden despite him now being 20!

Oh and I couldn't forget a piccie could I! Apologies for my hands, he gets very strong when he's excited, and I can get a bit *handsy* when I'm nervous  rolleyes

Thankyou everyone for the warm welcome and lovely comments hug

Update-wise....Woody was officially cleared as sound in April  yahoo and has been able to be in regular work which he is enjoying. Previously his bone spavins in both hocks, arthritis and his previously broken pelvis had been giving him lots of grief  sad, now his pelvis is symmetrical and it doesn't drop on the broken side  thumbs the side in the piccie is the side he broke and he used to have awful muscle wastage, it was like looking at 2 halves of a different horse when comparing his left and right.

I've had him for 6 years this May and he turned 20 in January!  Shocked

We are having lots of fun these days  thumbs

I hope everyone has been keeping well  hug
