Have been reminded that I am supposed to be finding more about the area in which I will hopefully be living by this summer... so this is me hopefully finding something out!

My boyfriend is off to Harper Adams hopefully in Sept, and so me & Dante are moving to the area also. Means tracking down a yard, suppliers of all sorts & (for me, most importantly  Embarrassed ) a good instructor! As I want to actually make some progress this year Smiley It would be nice if they could teach long-reining/in-hand work also as I want to learn more about these, and also the obvious riding part!

Any recommendations? If anyone knows of anything of use appart from good instructors I will certainly not complain! It's not often I stray far from Cheshire...!

Thank you x

Not sure what type of livery you are after, or how far you want to travel but the Wyke Equestrian Centre is one that comes to mind. Decent facilities, rather traditional but when I was there they started everyone on the lunge without stirrups etc to get balance and a seat first.

Telford Equestrian Centre isn't somewhere I'd go. Have you tried looking on the board in the Countrywide Farmers store in Newport?

Sue Palmer is lovely and very down to earth. I've done a horse massage course run by her and would recommend it!

I've not actually been down there yet (aiming to next weekend!) so going to put some adverts up in any of the local tack shops & have a nosy at anything they've got advertised.
Livery will have to be the cheapest possible whilst still having decent facilities! I have no transport for my horse either so we can't travel to shows or lessons, and I need to be careful with how much I spend on fuel, so I am considering yards slightly further from Newport, if they'll offer me a job! Lots of things to work out

Hi,

I teach in Shifnal and Gnosall at least once a month.  If you would like me to put you in touch with any of my clients that way for the low done on livery yards then would be happy to do so.

I shall be moving to the Hodnet (Market Drayton) area later this year - or next or the one after that! It is dependant on my OH parents ever getting their new house built!! rolleyes

And was just about to say you needed to get hold of Emma Bailey! Don't know of any livery yards though and I shall be lucky enough to have mine at home when I finally get there.

I am looking into competition venues and things but my biggest issue is going to be finding a good farrier. I have a fantastic farrier and am going to be gutted to loose him. sad

Thank you, that could be handy! Smiley I am off to look at a yard over towards Market Drayton next friday, this place http://web.blazehillequestrian.co.uk/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 which seems nice enough! Hopefully it is as good as it seems when we actually get there! Smiley

Hi guys - good farriers can be hard to find but I have foot fetish and therefore so try to influence my clients and get to know the local pros ! Livery yards always so mixed too. Have computer virus probs at mo so only access through iPad and phone so if you want to email me at emma@moveintothelight.co.uk i can either connect you through fb to relevant people or send you emails if you rather. Am teaching in Telford on 10 th march if anyone wants to come say hi to me and local folks !
