I have been discussing with our webmaster and mods, as to whether we should allow public access for registered, but not paying members to some of the boards on EE. Paying membership has dropped off, I hope mostly due to the recession and not boredom! whistle Having asked paying members what they would like to see added to the forum, all seemed happy with what they already have for a £15 a year membership, as they have the private members forum, the video instruction, direct access to ask me questions in 'Ask Heather', the members blogs which are highly educational in themselves and are so popular!

But I feel that the forum needs fresh blood, and with the book now on sale and the new saddles, it will be good if non paying members can ask questions about both.

Boards that will still be private are Classical/French Equitation, Clicker training, EE Society, Members Blogs, Ask Heather, Video Instruction, Rider Health, and Rainbow Bridge.

This will take place once I have organised it with webmaster Andy.

Registration must take place before anyone can post.

I think it is a great idea personally. We still have our private bit but potential converts can have a really good look.

Yes I totally agree, its possibly the right way to go. If folk come and enjoy, they will join anyway.

As long as we have our private 'bits' i'll be happy to read from new folk.

Spread the word I say.

I didn't even know which boards were which anyway except blogs and society. Sounds like a good plan though to encourage people in  thumbs

I am very happy with the recommendation, and would not mind if the Classical/French Equitation and Clicker were to be opened up as well.

sounds like a good idea and I don't see why you don't open up clicker and classical too.
BTW can non members see that there *are* other boards? because if they aren't aware there is an ask heather and a video board they may not realise that it would be good to join?

I dont know it is possible for others to see the boards, Sarah without being able to read them. I just think that perhaps keeping the classical and clicker boards out of reach, other than to read it, might stop the sort of arguments that go on, on fb!! whistle

Please keep  EE society private.

Sometimes i would never post anything if I knew it would be read by 'just anyone'..

Great plan  thumbs

Its good that Society and the blogs are private, its nice to have a limited access place to post the things that we don't always want in the public domain, but it has to be good to up access to other bits, for the sake of EE  thumbs
