Ditto - I know it will really upset me and there is no way I'm going to embarrass myself in public to that degree (still blush about properly howling...and I mean properly out loud howling, sobbing and snottery floods of tears at I am Legend and THE dog scene at our local cinema  cry Embarrassed)

Nope, I will see it at home where my hubby is used to holding a box of tissues for me!

I am in two minds.  I may wait for the dvd, but even then I am not sure I want to watch it.  One of the guys I work with said he has seen the stage version and really recommends it.  But I can't watch black beauty so have I really any hope of sitting through this.    I am not sure. cc_confused

A friend went to see it in London, and she still cant speak about it without welling up, so no I wont be subjecting my brain to the pain of the reality it represents.

I still want to see the stage play - despite the fact I know i'll cry. I expect I want to see this too.

I already purposely 'spoilered' the story for myself to a degree by reading the end of the book one day in a bookshop, so I at least know what happens to the main character horse in the end. I don't usually go for spoilers, but this time I thought I'd better!

It has already opened in North America on Xmas Day. A very horsey teary-type friend of mine went and expected to cry a lot. She said that since it is a Disney film, it was not as painful/difficult a movie to watch as she had thought - from what she said they put the "lighter" Disney touch to the film to make it more feel-good than painful etc. Not sure if she cried at the feel-good parts (which can lead to tears) but she seemed to think it was not that difficult to watch.

I might go to see it sometime this week.

I'm afraid I've not read the book, seen the play and won't be seeing the film.  I think it's great it's helping educate people of the role of animals in war, but I just can't face it myself.  I've accidentally caught the TV advert twice and was sobbing uncontrollably by the end of just that!

Me and Icy Lady are going to see the play at the end of this month, and I'm wondering whether I should see the film first to try and take the edge of my emotion for the play.  I don't mind having a sniffly moment but we are going with a group of work colleagues and I can just imagine the ribbing I am going to get if I'm in tears throughout the whole thing.

I have good reason to worry because I was in tears that the 'making of' and that didn't even say much of the story ......
