I don't have an expert eye for the details of this classical riding (others can discuss if they want), but the woman who uploaded this video labelled it as classical dressage and trained with Bent Branderup, so it seemed appropriate to post it in the classical riding section. I thought that I would share the videos for fun, as I think that these videos are rather nice to watch.

This seems to be the web site of this person:
http://www.klassisch-reiten.at/DE/t1_islandpferde_sar_en.html

In fact, I was actually looking on youtube for videos of shoulder-in at walk, and this was the first hit that I got so I took a peek and found this icelandic pony doing dressage rather cute. I love the combination of the baroque music and the wee pony. Smiley

No comments from any members?? Perhaps I should have posted it in a more viewed section of the forum (EE Society??) as maybe people just are not seeing it. Oh well, hopefully people will find it.  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Isn't it sweet and classy? I just love how serious the rider is, how serious the music is - and then there is the cutest little munchkin of a horse doing his work so earnestly and so well. A real cutie.

I really did like that. Makes me want to swap my 17.2 for one of these models. Gives all of those adults out there who prefer to ride ponies or anything under 15 hh a ray of hope. Too many people poo poo the idea of adults riding smaller horses. This is fab. yahoo

I know, it made me want to get myself a tiny pony. It would be so neat to have my HUGE 17 2 hh horse then a wee shrimpy cutie like this.

Honestly, the entire picture looks so elegant that the wee size of the pony makes no difference at all!! This shows that tiny cute horses can be as elegant as the larger horses.  thumbs thumbs thumbs

p.s. I love this pony, I cannot stop watching the video.

Littleies are fab.  I have pictures of Icelandic Horses in my book.  I regularly judge dressage at an Icelandic Horse centre up in the lake district and think they are fab!  Of course I'm used to doing bits and bobs on little horses, Ketchup is only 14.2Hh!

Ooo folks, never call Icelandics 'ponies'- the Icelanders get most upset about this. Despite their size, they are always termed 'horses' and when you ride them believe me, they ride incredibly big for their size!

I called them ponies in the first post, and then horses in the next post!! I was not actually sure if it mattered so was flip-flopping. Still, icelandic owners everywhere should be happy with this this thread, as we are saying how wonderful this guy did his classical dressage thing and how amazing they are as a breed - so hopefully that makes up for any name transgressions!! laugh

I still haven't had a chance to watch with the music as well, but great vids, thank you for posting  Smiley

I rode Iceys up in the Pentland Hills once - we would have gone again but they closed as a riding centre and now just run as a stud. Super little gees.
