ive just asked the question of RooA of her saddle she has on her pony. Im told its a fhoenix vogue, brown suede.
Has anyone got a picture of the saddle...
I had the fhoenix dressage, which wasn't right on Jim, but im told that the vogue is more close fitting with longer flaps, and would be a better fit on  him.

id like to see a picture of a brown suede or just a suede  if anyone has one handy thanks.

I took some pictures of the saddle on Poppy tonight because I'm in the process of ordering a Vogue GPS for myself (the saddle I'm using right now is my OH's and he's having to use his old treed GP when we hack together, which makes him very grumpy, so I have to get my own saddle laugh) and the lady who we are ordering from asked for some pictures.  I can't post them tonight as I need to get to bed but I will try and do it tomorrow.

Some pictures here.  But mainly of the saddles themselves rather than on a horse.

oh well now then..
What I DONT want is the 'perched' on top, same saddle as the fhoenix dressage. Jim being quite wide needs a longer flap and less padding on the saddle so that it is more close contact than the fhoenix. I saw the Vogue, and thought it looked quite a bit less padded. i may be wrong, so anyone got any ideas, but it does look a nice saddle and im wondering if the fit would be right for jim. Im also seriously thinking that I could come down a size to a 16, or 16.1/2 if they exist.

I REALLY like the look of the Bercia.  Im not sure the job it was made for, so again ideas please..Do these come in a brown, and i would imagine that its as dressage legal as any non traditional saddle.
Im never going to be doing anything more than club level, novice so no Olympic games.

keep buying different saddles is mighty expensive, so im not going to make the same mistake as before, buying something thats not right.

Iberian designs I'm afraid aren't dressage necessarily legal but it depends on what people think are traditional Iberian... the rules say '... western style, traditional Iberian and Arabia... are not permitted'

You may get away with it because there are a couple of saddle companies doing saddles with a more Iberian flap... it also depends on what BD class as the Iberian saddle.  If they mean the Selle Royale type of saddle with galleries front and back then you would be fine...

I'm a saddle agent and probably not too far from you if you wanted a visit to try the vogue out

I have a Vogue dressage and don't feel at all perched on it except maybe a little when it is very cold, once the seat has warmed it moulds too you and becomes 'deeper'...in fact you can end up with a 'butt print' in it.  laugh

I didn't get on with the original Fhoenix as I tend to prefer treed saddles usually (for me) but I find the Vogue feels fine I don't register it, if you see what I mean, which is how it should be you shouldn't be focussing on the saddle when you ride IMHO, it should just be almost 'forgotten'. The Vogue has a much more close contact feel through the flaps and as it has a 'twist' I don't feel perched at all (again its takes a few minutes to warm up in very cold weather but after that its fab).
Lots of pics on my Facebook album of Thea wearing hers but its black leather.

These were taken for Lou, when I was having a bit of an issue with the saddle slipping forwards - now sorted Smiley - so the saddle may look a little too far forward Smiley

Should probably add that mine has wool panels Smiley
