Trolling through e bay I found a set of 2 easy boot bares for sale, new unused, the right size for jim so I bid and won them....

Anyhow, I had easyboots over 20 years ago, [ and still have one pair of the old lot, which are still ok ]
these new boots seem much the same apart from the cuff, but when i got the old ones it was advised to put a loop of string on the heel strap, and hold it so that it sat on the heel. Is it still the same now??

How do you fit these new bares?? do you have to undo the screws before you put them on, then tighten them.

Bares can be a pain to get on, I remember being part of the trial for them and ended up passing them on to Icy Lady as I got so frustrated with them.  You basically fold down the gaiter and then wiggle the boot on, a rubber mallet can help to tap them in to place, they should basically be put on adjusted as tight as they can be but still go on.  If they need adjusting then take them off and tighten the bungee with a screw driver.

Penny, have you tried them, you may be fine with them.  Gloves are the easiest I think.

No ive not tried them, dont want fiddling...

I did ask, but better asking again..
Would i need to carry a screwdriver all the time, they have loads of screws, would all these  have to be undone first before putting them on??? and taking them off again.
I dont want to use them and make them un-saleable

Were not going on the MT loop now this year, but im going next year, so ive till the spring to find a set that I can cope with.

No, once you have fiddled about adjusting them for fit they stay like that, no screwdriver required.
