I just took delivery of the new Bent Branderup DVD called 'Riding Aids'. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

It is divided up into two DVDs and each one has a series of headings which you can click and watch separately or chose to watch one after another. The instruction on the DVDs starts with a completely unhandled horse and goes right through to  the training required to take a horse to a level where he can use high school movements to further his balance.

Each stage of the horses training is described in detail, though, if I have to criticise, Brent is inclined to speak quite fast and has a fairly strong accent, so some of the more complex movements will need a few viewings to understand exactly what he means.

The system I am following, called 'Straightness Training' with Marijke de Jong is exactly the same as the system being shown by Bent Branderup in this DVD, so it would be great viewing for those on the E course with Marijke.

It is being produced in conjunction with Marijke de Jong and it should be possible to find it on her website - info@paardenbegrijpen.nl

It does not feature Marijke in it however.
It costs 52 euros and lasts 75 minutes. You can get it in English and it does not have subtitles.

Its wierd - I have looked too and googled it for you and I too came up with nothing.  sad

I will certainly bring the DVDs with me, but maybe you could try emailing the link I sent you - I think Joyce Mulder will possibly be the one who will respond to the email. Maybe it is worth a try?

Yes it was Joyce Mulder who sent me mine when I ordered.

I just got the two latest Philippe Karl video's and I gotta say they blow every other DVD out of the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are PK giving lessons to a bunch of different horses from start with flexions right through to piaffe and passage. And they are so beautifully made and edited that they are just a joy to watch. The filming is fantastic...really having the horse big in the picture while PK is talking/giving the lesson and so it makes everything very clear.

The PK dvd's can be got from www.ForTheHorse.com

The Bent Branderup DVD is also extremely well made although not nearly so packed with detail. It's really interesting to watch both these slightly different approaches. But bang for buck...PK's dvd is absolutely tops!! I also just did a quick search and can't find how to order the BB DVD...???

Hi Lyndsey, I totally agree with you re the newest PK DVDs.  There's also another set that I recently got from Pip Easton in Perth (Australia) -- two DVDs along the same lines of clinics there.  Just wonderful instructional DVDs.  They didn't play on my regular player, although they are supposed to, but I have a cheapo DVD player that doesn't have any regional restrictions -- worth it's weight in gold as it reliably plays all my weird DVDs!

I can't wait to see the BB ones -- I have a couple of his other ones which are just terrific!

BB dvd available here http://kapson.se/text2_26.html sorry about the swedish, press kontakt for getting in touch with seller. Agree that its got a lot of good info, but I thought it was (for some reason) such a drag... I actually fell asleep trying to watch it  Embarrassed. Maybe because I tried to watch the whole thing in one go Cheesy. And I so want the new PK nod, was it voiced over? Can't remember if I've seen anything about that Undecided
