When I started Jim I used the bareback pad, mainly because he was so wide nothing went anywhere near him. He was like a table, flat topped with legs one at each corner.

For the past few months Ive been alternating between the freemax and the barefoot dressage. Mainly I use the freemax for general hacking, and some schooling, especially when we work outside, while he's been adding the zip!
I used the barefoot yesterday for our lesson, and thought it was much better for schooling in, plus Jayne rode him for half the lesson, and she loved the saddle, she said the way he went was much better, more uphill than the last time she rode him, [ monday in the freemax.]
He goes really well in it, so much so my trainer has suggested I only use the barefoot in future.

Perhaps ive got used to having lots of saddles that I can pick and choose from in the past, but it might be time now to get rid of those im not going to use and stick to one.
How many people use more than one saddle regularly.  thumbs

I have one saddle at a time for the Welsh Princess - they have been changed a lot as she is still growing, and each one has been PXed for the next. I'm so used to riding in dressage/straight cut saddles that I tend to do everything in the same one (and it's such a relief to find one that fits that I put off the agony until she next grows!)

I have a variety of saddles and I kinda go through fits and starts with changing saddles  whistle  I always go back to my fhoenix saddles though.

I would say 99% of the time I use my Fhoenix saddles, and will try my barefoot a bit for jumping and forward work.

Ketchup loves the Fhoenix and Barefoot equally, though with my Famelial Mediterranean Fever makes sitting on a treeless saddle without a twist (even with the hip saver/turtle) very difficult.

I got the saddles mixed up******* another reason for getting rid of one!

The fhoenix was great for both william [ for whom it was bought ] and for Rocky too, but on Jim is was a no go, it sat me too high off his flat back, and made my hips hurt..He was just tooooooo wide.

Im thinking of sticking with the freemax dressage, might sell the barefoot dressage ive still got the easyfit, so not going to struggle for something of the endurance veriety, if I go do the Mary Townley loop.

So the barefoot looks as if its going on E bay. I can sell the freemax pad same time, so a bit of cash coming back.

Duuuuurrr dunce!...... KEEPING the FREEMAX    selling the BAREFOOT dressage.

I'm just using my WOW for flatwork and hacking now, but I use the GPT for jumping as I need to hitch my stirrups up a lot, and dressage flaps, a deep seat and knee rolls don't really allow that to happen with the WOW!

I used to tend to alternate between the fhoenix GP and dressage on them on.  I have been occasionally using the mayhew side saddle on Minstral on the rare occasions I've been on.  The kids occasionally use Cat's Fylde show saddle on her.
