What saddle soap do people use, and also I was told not to use neatsfoot oil on your saddle, so whats the best (feed) people use.

Hi - I use Sedgewicks Leather balm, simply because when I bought my Jeremy Rudge saddles, Jeremy made it very clear that the majority of leather balms and soaps on the market today contain hidden chemicals which really damage the leather over time.  He treats all of his saddles with Sedgewicks because it is a pure fat, so i've just followed this advice.  I clean the saddles normally, apply the balm and my saddles are totally waterproof to ride out in all weathers, feel supple and look fantastic all of the time!

I have found Effax very good on both new and old leather, just use little and often. I'm sad, I run over mine nearly every day - but the tack does then last for years, our local master saddler has said I'm doing something right with it.
Ko-cho-line for deep conditioning (but make sure that you don't use it where it can get on good clothing as it's bright red!!).

Soap I use (or used, I've just ran out) Hydrophane liquid glycerine, because I find normal block glycerine far too much of a faff.

For feed I use CDM Belvoir Leather Balsam.  I love it. Soaks in easily, polishes up nicely and doesn't leave any kind of sticky residue (*cough* Hamanol *cough* ).  It's clear too, so won't mark your clothes.

I use Oakwood products for my leather gear. The cleaner is really good at getting the muck off- just a squirt needed in warm water , so is ecomomical , and the leather care makes things really soft, flexible and waterproof- i use it on my work and riding boots too.
I now have a synthetic dressage saddle so would be interested in any suggestions on how to keep that clean and tidy

Saying that, I use wax, ever since I had a Fhoenix and they give you some...much better than oil and good on your boots too thumbs
