Can anyone recommend a nice dressage saddle with set back stirrup bars like the Vogue/ Phoenix but in a tree'd saddle please?

As much as I love the idea of the Vogue I seem to tip forward in it significantly  sad

How long is a piece of string? Smiley

Afraid that you will have to sit in a few to see how you go - so make sure you can give them a good trial - the fit is very critical on the horse as well as sometimes they are designed 'for the rider' if you know what I mean. I've just been through this as I've needed to get a new saddle for an expanding young pony. If you are in the far South West I have contact details for someone very good.
FWIW I had the same problem in the Vogue, I find that a more open seat suits me - usually found in older designs. I have had a couple of Stubben Parzivals and a Jeffries on withery horses, a Parker Imperial and now a Black Country working hunter style on a native - all lovely to sit in, at least for me!! Have a look at the working hunter styles  too - they are straight cut but you may find them more comfortable than a deep deep seated modern dressage model.

I love my Bates Isabel (old version), has set back stirrup bars.      However, these do tend to be love or hate saddles, as many don't rate them at all and they have Cair which again some love, some hate.

Minnie (who is very particular with which saddles she'll allow on her back) loves it and so do it.  thumbs

I've recently changed to a WOW dressage as the Vogue wasn't quite giving me enough support.  I love it, it's really helping my seat, and Gazdag goes beautifully in it.

Thanks guys,
Re-looking at the photos of lincoln and I realise that I need to do something about my seat and position before I lightly back my baby next year! Currently riding in an old Griffin (or something like that). I cant ride Lincy in the vogue as it tips me onto my fork and I feel a bit "all at sea".

I quite like the Albion saddles but could do with something with set back stirrup bars to help me stop adopting the chair position.

Is that a Wow with CAIR Jen?

It's a WOW Competitor, so yes, flocked with Flair.   Smiley

The Club model has foam flocking I believe?

I love my Wintec Isabell Werth saddle, not actually using at the moment but wouldnt part with it (still fits horse, just wanted a GP for hacking and jumping)  It has set back bars, a deep seat and you can velcro on big knee rolls, so very secure.

I have a Heather designed, St.Merryn, made by Barrie Swain. They are old now but you may find a 2nd hand one in good condition, like I did.  Smiley

I have the Bates Isabel Dressage saddle, don't know if it has the set back bars, but think so. It's very comfortable anyway.  nod

Another one here with an Isabell Werth . I have always struggled with the  stirrup bar position on saddles until this one. It is comfortable and secure. I have a Cair model , but am not sure how different the flocked or flair models feel to horse/rider.

Thanks guys,

was wondering about a Bates saddle (Caprilli or Worth) but there are mixed reviews about CAIR?

My mare has been ridden in a Cair saddle (dressage) and a normal flocked Wintec (GP) about equal times I'd say over the last 8+ years and I think she prefers the Cair if I had to make a guess, but its certainly never caused her issues.

I had a Wintec Pro dressage on Mai then a Bates (which was the leather version of the wintec) both very nice saddles. But when she changed shape I got a WoW which was THE best saddle I have ever had I loved it and so did she. Sadly Thea hates them!  sad

(Thea refuses to wear anything other than a Vogue!).

You took the words right out of my mind.
Another suggestion would be the Kay Humphries and Barry Swain treed saddle.

Unfortunately, because I gave up riding, I may considerer selling my HM/BS St. Merryn.  sad
