I remember something about the course. Not jealous at all  tongue

But how did you find his workings in practice with the horses. Iv always thought his work looked exception but had limited practical knowledge. Jack seems impressed, iv only started the real basic work from the first book and jacks seems to have developed a very interested expression about work laugh Im enjoying it more that CT atm but then im not really happy about my standard of CT

Hes an excellent horseman, no doubt about that, his body language is very fluid and hes very grounded in his inner elf  Cheesy

I reccomend to read his second book aswell as that covers the more esoteric side of things.

He actually decided by the time I met him that techniques were not that important but what was inside you was the main thing and I would agree with that BUT the techniques help us to establish more confidence and awareness which in turn builds the inner stuff.

I think it mixes well with clicker actually, just dont get too robotic about the clicker stuff.  Smiley

I thought that about the clicker, but what do you mean by robotic

Im not sure about techniques been not that important, maybe I should just sit and meditate with jack then. But I know what he means iv been trying to take a few minutes before working jack to just stand a few minutes and get in the zone for want of a better word and communication goes much better

Robotic, ie; without emotion or soul, concentrating too hard on the click and not enough on the interraction with the horse, forgetting to use your voice aswell, that sort of thing  Smiley

And yes, you should always try to be fully 'present' when working with your horse, if you cant be for whatever reason ( stress/rushed / whatever) then just go for a nice hack or something.

Noone has any real opinions to offer on anything? I find it interesting about keeping the eye contact all the time, at least when you first start. Some approaches are the oppersite. The has certainly been no doubt over the effect this has on jack, he no longer stops when been led and if I keep the eye contact he marches on trying to catch him with me with a lovely expression. If im looking away he just drags his feet slowly

I've never tried any of his stuff, but seeing videos on you tube etc I'd be very interested in learning more. I look forward to hearing how Jack responds to it Smiley

Whats the idea behind the eye contact? Do you look them in the eye all the time? Intriguing!

Bought the third book months ago - and have not even opened it - I am totally rubbish. I have a mound of books in my to-do pile rolleyes

I cannot cope with people who have so much "philosophy" behind their teachings - for me it's very much more tell me how it is, and I can learn / adapt from that. I have no doubt that he is very good at what he does, but I really struggle to get past the words he uses. But that is just me - and doesn't mean that I don't like the work he does  Cheesy
