Well its been a long time coming, but finally im blissfully happy with the saddles ive purchased for Jim.

The Barefoot london. Is ok now that Ive removed that shockingly hard and uncomfortable seat topper, and replaced it with a HM seatsaver [ I want a hip saver now if anyone has one hanging about.. in Black! ]
I suppose the original topper would be ok for 'normal' use, but i ride very long, and so the cut was wrong for me.

And the Freemax dressage, tried it today for a lesson, and I can say I have never sat on anything as comfortable, its brilliant.

Having a round pony, with no whither has been a nightmare to fit a saddle to.

Tell me about it.  sad I have the added complication of Drummer only being 12.2hh and most saddles that fit my bottom and thigh are too long for him.  rolleyes Well done for finding one/two.  thumbs

I thought id add an update.

Ive had plenty of time to try the two different saddles and I can honestly say that the Barefoot london dressage is wonderful. I have used it to school, and to hack. It stays in place, doesn't slip [when I remember to fasten the girth!] and the pony goes well in it.
I have had tree less saddles for many years, and they are a great addition to the tack room. 'Mainly because they fit almost any shape'.  I loved the Fhoenix on Rocky and William, because they had a whither, but because Jim was like sitting on a table, it wasn't for him.
Having an odd shaped pony is a nightmare to fit a saddle to.[as we all know] And it can be very expensive. I must have tried fifteen saddles [tree'd] up to and including ex ex wide.. which were dreadful. Synthetic and leather, nothing went anywhere near him, or they slid around or slipped back.

It will be interesting to see the reaction to the saddles when we start to get him out to dressage and the odd show.
