Just saying hi while I figure out how to get the full membership thing going on.

I've been meaning to join EE for a while, since I got my loan horse Poppy back in October.  But life has been very busy and I haven't had time to do much with her so it seemed a bit pointless joining.  However the summer holidays are almost upon us and I'm going to have more time for myself (I'm a teacher, not a pupil by the way!) and hence more time to spend with Poppy.  Although I will probably spend the summer just trying to get her fit only to have to stop working her regularly again when school starts up again in September.  I'm hoping that won't happen though.

One thing is for sure - I'm going to have LOADS of questions.  I'm not new to horses and have worked on livery yards in the past but having my "own" is seriously daunting, especially when it comes to bringing her back into work.  Annoyingly she is one of the few horses I have ever sat on that makes me nervous so I'm hoping I can get over that little hurdle as well.  I've been having a bit of a dilemma about keeping her on loan or not but I think it'#ll actually be better for me long term if I perservere and work out how to get on with her.  I have been waiting for the opportunity to build a one to one relationship with a horse for over 20 years and now I have it I seem to want to chicken out of it!  rolleyes  wallbash  (liking the smileys).

I think I've rambled enough and need to get back to marking books.  I'll figure out the whole full membership thing and start asking oads of annoying questions very soon.

wave Just wanting to say hi really.

Oh and I know at least one person on here already, but she might not want to own up to knowing me.  Smiley

Hello and welcome! wave
this is a good place to come with questions.

Do hope you're going to give us some pics of Poppy, however... we like our pics here  laugh laugh

lol - I already waste lots of time on the internets when I should be doing other things.  But I'm mosty on here when I'm so tired I couldn't be doing anything else anyway.

I found where to pay my subscription.  Any ideas how long it'll take before that is all sorted and I can go on the main boards?

Also I have dusted off an old photobucket account so that I can share some pictures... lets see if this works...

Myself on Poppy back in October/November time.  She's got thinner over winter and I've got fatter so you aren't getting a more recent picture.  Embarrassed

Thanks for the welcome everyone!  Brought her in from the field for the first time in ages tonight and she does not look anywhere near as clean as she does in that photo above!  Cheesy

PS: still waiting to get onto the main forum... any ideas about how long it takes?

Hi there and welcome!

I'll chase membership sec Debbie- she has had a very busy week with training for her main job, so I know is a little rushed atm. But I am sure she will access you very shortly!
