Looking a bit RK, but he was actually just getting a fly from his chest....

Its a whole year since he went, and although im not always sad, I still feel the loss whenever I hear his wind chime tinkling on the branch of the tree that he always stood under.
Odly the rose we planted in his memory blossomed yesterday, with a beautiful little white flower, but it was taken in the storm before I could take a picture of it.

Im sure everyone who lost a pal last year will understand my feelings today, its been a bit miserable.

Ive spent ages tonight just sitting in the field, on my own watching the boys mooching about, wishing!!
God I loved that horse.

What a lovely way of him saying goodbye, that's true AC!
You'll never forget, but it will get easier.

Understand completely - it does get easier as the years go by, but I still have moments of sadness over my mare who I lost 11 years ago.   Worked out she would have been 21 this year and her old field mate the same age is still going strong and competing XC, which makes me  cry occasionally.

I've also got a rosebush planted in memory in the garden and its gets lovelier by the year and is such a wonderful way of jogging the memory for the good things as I walk past each day.

The good does outweigh the sadness in the end though  hug hug hug hug

Rocky certainly was a very handsome boy  wub wub

He was gorgeous.  hug hug hug
Will be four years for Mai and I in September, like Chrissie sometimes I will still have a moment when the sadness catches me unawares, the pain doesn't ever go completely but I remember her mostly with happiness now. I too have a rose in her memory.

I seem to be quoting this a lot but :

The pain now is part of the happiness then. C S Lewis

Its true.  hug hug hug
