Hi Mischief, welcome to the forum  wave

I'm not sure I personally have seen anybody with the username Firienwood (how very LOTR  Cheesy ), unless they are a member not posting much now or something, but it rings a bell as somebody's photobucket account, email or something....Will pop off and check, and hopefully be back (!)

Hello Mischief

well, you've found me  thumbs I am the proud owner of the Firienwood prefix, and have a rather beautiful 8 year old traditional gypsy cob by the name of Firienwood Juggernaut.

Seeing as I have only ever used my prefix twice and the other one was called Mischief...  whistle I'm guessing that you must now own our little Tyki (Mischief's pet name as a baby).

Just thought you might want an update.  Fell in love with him last year but wasn't sure if I could get any work for him.  He came up for sale again this year and I thought it must be fate...
I live in the south of France and have quite a few traditionals, and am well on the way to converting the frogs wink!
I really do not know enough about him, I bought him as an unbroken stallion who has been in the field with mares for the last 3 years, I started working him when he arrived on the ground (long reining etc) and very quickly established that someone, somewhere had spent a fair amount of time teaching him, though not the last two owners.
I took him for his grading at the weekend here in France and he apparently scored one of the highest ever grades (kudos to you and me both thumbs)
I know what it's like to breed a horse and not know what they're upto, so really just a courtesy call to let you know - he's arrived at the pamper farm, where I have totally fallen in love with him.   Best temperament of any stallion I have ever worked with - that is not said lightly I've worked with some crackers.  He has a home for life and a padock full of ladies - so h's very very happy.  I have attached some pics so you can see how he's looking.
PS Any info on him very gratefully received i.e if you did break him, etc as I will be getting him under saddle in the next week or two.

All very kind comments guys - it's a pleasure, it's so hard when parting with horses - just nice if every now and again someone can let you know how they're getting on.
Like I said, fallen for him big time - husband V upset as he is now number 2 stud here!  laugh
He's a credit to Lucy - fantastic when breeders get it soooo right!  I know I'm biased but the grading said it all.

I confess, I had already found him on your website  whistle I google search his name from time to time to keep track of where he goes of I can.

Mischief, or Tyki as we called him at home, was born in April 2003. His mother was a sweet natured bay and white mare, about 13.2hh ish, called Rosie. His father was a lovely cob stallion called Rocky. He was owned by a gypsy chap called Les Orchard near Exeter in Devon. Rocky was by a stallion called The Lion King http://www.gypsyhorses.com/Horses/lionking.htm who was sold to the States for an insane amount of money (he sadly died a few years back under anaesthetic following a relatively simple operation  cry ). Tyke was a slightly mental foal, he was spooky and reactive, shy and difficult. He couldn't have been more different to his half brother Tonka. I still have Tonks and he is more than a bit special  wub Tonks is a seriously laid back dude and is my soulmate.

My ex-partner decided to sell Tyke as a two year old in the spring 2005. He took him to Appleby Fair (for which I could have cheerfully killed him). Later that year (around October) a lady in Wales got in touch having bought him and traced me through his passport. She had a few cobs and a welsh stallion, and bred cobs at her farm in South Wales. I think her name was Karen. She kept Tyke for a few years, bred several foals from her mares with him, and I think she broke him to harness. She definitely worked him, though I don't know whether he was ever 'put to' a carriage or not. She sadly died of cancer around 18 months ago, maybe two years, and although he stayed in South Wales for a while, her herd was eventually dispersed. At that point I lost track of him. So it's only two years or so that he's been in a field doing nothing, but I'm not sure how many hands he has passed through in that time.

He is a very well bred pony, so the grading result doesn't surprise me  thumbs he has a number of siblings (well half siblings at least) that are cracking cobs. This is one of his half brothers, they share a sire http://www.mccartneystud.com/mccartneyshighlandprince.htm and Cookie stands at stud near Exeter in Devon. And then there is my boy...

Firienwood Juggernaut  Cheesy  He is 15hh or just a shade over, and is a total superstar. He is my soulmate and won't ever leave me.

I'm very glad that Tyke has found a nice home and that you have fallen in love with him  nod he deserved to find a nice home where someone would love him for who he is  Smiley

Thank you so much for the info - cookie looks amazing - as does your boy! The Chief as he's affectionately known here still has some condition to put on, he has been in Belgium for a year and they keep 'em leaner than us brits!  I am surprised to hear he was a monkey, well not that surprised, he has plenty of character but is pretty unflappable, when I say they make you walk through fire here for the grading I mean quite literally!  We had to walk over a seesaw, plastic sheets, tow sledges, go through popping ballons, slaloms, chicanes under washing lines and past road drills!  All to prove temperament apparently!  Anyway, all done, and work starts this week under saddle, wish us luck.
Been a superstar with the ladies and incredibly well mannered with me when seeing to them, lol..
Once again many thanks for the info - please keep checking the website for updates.  Best Regards Marie
