Hi all

To introduce myself – I’m Lorca’s new owner.  He’s a six year old PRE stallion, who is currently half way across Spain on his way here, having set off from Marbella yesterday morning.  I’m thrilled that he’ll soon be living at Heather’s beautiful farm in Devon South Hams - so if you come to visit you’ll meet him.

I’ve promised to keep you updated on his progress on the Forum. His background: he was born in Benalmádena in a small stud farm with beautiful pastures running down to the Mediterranean (see pic).  I first saw him in January: he has the sweetest character, eager to please, with a great conformation for dressage, but out of condition, having only been used for hacks.  He moved to a training yard in Marbella for four months, and he’s been transformed: shining coat, bright eyes and developing muscles.  Hope you like the photos and I look forward to chatting further.

Thank you for your lovely welcome messages - it's great to know that we'll be well supported.  I must admit Lorca is rather handsome - the nice thing is, he doesn't know it yet!  Will keep you updated with info and pics.

Hi Carole  wave

I'm Tori - Heather's yard manager but unfortunately I'll be long gone before you and your lovely boy arrive as we're moving to Wales in a fortnight!  rolleyes I think, we probably "met" at the Dorothy Mark's day a few weeks back though ... I was the obedient groom holding Solo and then Rei for Dorothy!  Cheesy  laugh

I've been going on at Heather for AGES to take in a full/training livery though so I was very pleased to hear that you'd managed to twist her arm  thumbs I hope Lorca's transition to the UK, to gelding-hood and later to East Leigh and Heather's way of training is all as smooth as possible and I wish you all the very best with him.

Hi, he's lovely and you're lucky to be keeping him at Heathers  yahoo  I have a friend who lives in Andalucia, and has a PRE part bred called Lorca!  Small world.

Well if a dark handsome stranger came into my life I would want him to come and live with me too, Heather.

What a beaut.  I too have a horse from Marbella not a PRE though, but gorgeous none the less.  Even so I am green that you and Lorca will have the benefit of working with Heather.  I hope you have great joy, the 3 of you.

......and welcome.

What a beautiful horse. How wonderful for you. I can totally see why Heather allowed this livery to move in!  nod

If you ever need a yard in North Somerset, I am sure I could find a nice cosy stable here for him too!! whistle

I am definitely Jealous of your lovely black horse!

Hi,

Thanks for all your enthusiasm about my boy!  Good to hear he'd be welcome if we come on holiday to Somerset!  He's doing amazingly well after his six day journey from Marbella - ETA were brilliant and he arrived in good shape.  Settling in to his temporary home at St Pirin's near Penzance - will be there for six weeks with Rachel and then moving in to Heather's at East Leigh.  He's winning everyone over with his charm - he's got good stable manners, but is green in the school.

His first turn out on Sunday in a large paddock was really special.... (see pics) he couldn't believe he was free and stayed by us for some time before finally lifting his head and galloping around (threatening to jump the fence, but, thankfully, thinking better of it).  It's probably his first taste of freedom for two or three years, since he was stabled in Spain.  Loved nibbling the grass too - he loves to eat and couldn't believe what was under his feet was so tasty.....

A great start to his life in the UK!
