So is this problem the fault of trainers / riding school's. Or badly fitting saddles. or both.

If someone has a lesson, the trainer 'should' really be at some point behind the horse and rider, and comment on the way the rider sits. Done in walk and trot, they should be able to see a problem early on. But then 99% of people that ride never have any real imput from a good trainer.

I didn't read it as finding fault, I read it as finding solutions to situations that exist in the real world - and also that there is a combined asymetry of both horse and rider which makes simple corrections not always possible.

Anne Bondi owns Solutions Saddles (used to be Ansur) I think - so not convinced how independant research by the saddle reasearch trust will be....
