Finally made the trek over from IHDG  yahoo

I have been reading the facinating posts which Heather and the IH peeps put from time to time and thought it might be time to come over and read it all.

For those who don't know me, i live in West Sussex. Had one pony for 21 years who i sadly lost last year and now share my sisters place with my other one Sunny and her four varying sizes and ages.

Sunny has been through a very long recovery of repeated lami / cushings etc which has resulted in having to remodel the hoof capsule after the pedal rotation, but i feel safe to say, we are on the UP  Smiley

I have not ridden for a very long time but look forward to reading the finer points which might inspire me to get back on board and see what i can do with my ancient bones !!

I am on the campaign to get Heather to do a demo down our neck of the woods or failing that, wind my way down to Devon in the near future and see for myself.  Love Lorraine

Hi Lorraine, welcome  wave
Another from the IHDG here, you will find a few familiar faces although sometimes with different names. I highly recommend a trip to Devon and can even suggest a lovely B&B!

Aww thank you for the lovely welcome.

Ok, who would like to tell me where to start ?  I have Heathers book which i read cover to cover but i would like to start from beginner.  What should i read on here first ? I can only ride Sunny in walk, so what can i teach myself and him in the process ?
Thank you.

wave hello lovely to 'meet' you  laugh got any pics of Sunny? Lots of stuff you can do in walk that you'll find info on here but i'm sure someone more experienced will be able to direct you better nod There are probably some good basics on Ask Heather or rider training to do with weight aids and feeling the footfalls of the horse  nod
