I am a friend of this Facebook page - American Friends of the Spanish Riding School. They upload some very neat photos and videos and updates now and again (last year, they put up exclusive photos of the Imperial Fete held at the SRS in Vienna which was very cool). Worth adding them to your Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/American-Friends-of-the-Spanish-Riding-School/122376559940American Friends of the Spanish Riding School just today uploaded this cool video link with the caption: "Alois Podhajsky at the Spanish Riding School. A re-discovered 15 minute long film thought lost from the early 1950's which was made for Austria's tourism features rare and unusual footage of the Spanish Riding School and its director, Alois Podhajsky."
I am just starting to watch the video now, so I cannot comment much, but so far it looks amazing. Some old great footage from the 1950s, some really great riding and great horses, needless to say! This is the video link - enjoy!
http://pegasustv.org/archives/player_0012.htmlI will have to watch it again more closely and compare the riding in this video to the riding that I've seen on my few recent trips to Vienna and the SRS, as many people comment how things have changed. The overall picture does look different so far, esp. the head carriage in this video which is a tad in front of the vertical overall, more relaxed and maybe a tad higher (?) (even their conformation looks a tad different).
