Firstly Id like to begin by saying thankyou for oirganising the chrity ride in her memory

Im not too sure which forums mum used most or how often, but please feel free to spread the word and please go and enjoy her bench at Paignton Zoo in Devon. She loved the giraffes, so I felt it fitting to remember here with one of the best views I could organise. Mum used to live in Newton Abbott as a teenager and that is where she met dad. I remember trips there as a child and have regularly holidayed in Devon for the last few years

Enjoy and remeber

David,

Hello and welcome, and thank you for letting us know about Heather's bench, It's a really lovely memorial to a really lovely person.  If ever I'm in Devon I shall go and find it and watch the giraffes, I love them too. We all though an awful lot of your Mum, I was never lucky enough to actually meet her, but I still miss her, there must be a very big hole in your life, but I'll bet you have great memories.

Thanks David, and take care x

That is lovely.  Smiley  Perhaps loving giraffes is a common thing in horsey women ... I have several cuddly toy giraffes!  I met your mum twice and loved being in her company, I think of her often.  Love to you all. x

Hello David - welcome to EE.

What a lovely tribute to your Mum - a much missed forum member.

Many people will appreciate the bench when they stop to watch the giraffes Heather Jane loved so much.

Thanks so much for letting us know, David. Debbie, I think a special trip for us both, this summer, to Paignton Zoo would be lovely, don't you?

Oh what a lovely memorial to Heather Jane - I often go by memorial benches on our regular rides and always read them - it's lovely that the people left behind go to all the effort - thanks for sharing with us David.
