Hope to be working with old friend, Dave Johnson at The Saddle Company, to produce a cheaper part synthetic, part leather treed saddle, along the lines of my old Easisit, but much more stylish. I will begin work on the saddles as soon as the weather lets me get up to Walsall after the holidays!

Likewise, I will be producing a top of the range made to measure update of the St Merryn, with the son of my former saddler at Barrie Swain, trained by his Father, and Barrie.

It will be spring before they are fully on the market, but at least to keep you all in the loop as to the plans.

I personally have to say, that I still wouldnt want to ride on anything other than the Vogue/Fhoenix, but there are many riders who still want a treed saddle so it is my aim to provide a range across the board, both SoftTree and treed!

Watch this space! thumbs

Oh! fantastic! I spoke to my local SC fitter a few days ago and she said that there was 'something' in the pipeline that she was absolutely sworn to secrecy over, but she said I'd be pleased.
I've been bending her ear every time I see her over the stirrup bar placement on the SC saddles for some time, great to read the Easisit is being updated.

That's good news  thumbs

Will you be using the Saddle Co fitters or will the EE agents be handling them?  I only ask as the fitting quality can be variable (to be polite  whistle ) and though I have no intention of riding in anything but a Vogue or Fhoenix think that it's an important point to sort out  nod

yahoo I have tried both the Fhoenix and Vogue (and still use the Fhoenix) but prefer the St.Merryn and have been looking at SC saddles, so I'll hold fire for a while.  thumbs

We are certainly excited to carry anything you offer here in the US, Heather.  Though I agree with you (horse too) as we are totally smitten with the Vogue Saddle Range, I also see that there are customers, who will still go for a more traditional tree, or even a lower cost treeless, so I enthusiastically welcome the options.  It would be wonderful if these customers also could benefit from the expertise and detail that you put into the design of your saddles.  Perhaps this will also open up the way for a much sought after Jumping Saddle? whistle

I just cannot wait to stock my first new models, here in the USA thumbs

yahoo LOVED my SC saddle except it hurt my bum if I didn't use a seatsaver. Will definitely be interested in this if it's ready for when Nelly needs a new saddle Cheesy

Really pleased you are going to be working with Dave again, he was very positive about you and the saddles when I was with him at the workshop a month or so ago.  Think he knew I was a fan when I kept saying 'can you get a memory foam seat' on every different type of saddle we were looking at!

We're old mates, Tracey, I never fell out with Dave. We worked together when he was the designer at Thorowgood so go back a long way

Nessie, it can't have been working with me again that your fitter meant- Dave and I only discussed it today for the first time! Although he was involved from the tree point of view, when I was going to try to get this new range out with Jeffries wink

But I know of another well known make, that he will also be making for Lips Sealed!! I am so pleased to be able to work with him again without certain, er....encumbrances whistle laugh

That is what he said Heather, he has got some great stories about growing up in the trade, he'd make a brilliant after dinner speaker.

I know the top secret secret as well although I thought it was a bit more common knowledge now.

You are right there, Tracey!! Dave has a very dry sense of humour, and when my ex business partner Pete and I used to go out to dinner with Dave and his wife, I can testify to an evening spent with him can be side splitting!

I think perhaps it is known now who he is making saddles for, but perhaps we had better say nothing yet! nod

Any news Heather? Moss' girth straps are stretching, still usable but do I look to replacing, or putting £90 to a new saddle? Con's saddle that you sold me is still going strong, touch wood!!!!!

I'm off up there tomorrow, Jill, couldnt get there before Christmas due to the weather. I am staying with Dave and his wife, so will have plenty of time to catch up, and also get the revamped Easisit on the go! thumbs
