Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd share these pics of Domino at a recent Affiliated Elementary comp, where he came third. (On our previous outing he won his class with over 70%, but there wasn't a photographer that day! rolleyes I've trained this horse on behalf of his owner since he was backed &, as he isn't exactly built for Dressage, am very proud of what he has achieved.

I'm well aware that the photos aren't perfect but would like to think they show some promising work, particularly as for the first few years of training he found it physically impossible to canter at all! Smiley

Hope you like them. Who knows, if he keeps going the way he is, the next set I post might be from our first PSG test.......! Cheesy

Lovely pics Mike- Domino is stunning and I think it is just great to see horses like this showing just what can be done with them with good classical training.

I have ridden some fabulous cobs this year at clinics, and would love to have the chance to work with some of them regularly. The little cob that we had here on the last workshop had paces to die for, actually quite like a mini Domino, and I was seriously tempted to take up the owner's offer to have him on loan!

I think that you have a particular talent for getting a good canter- General's canter wasn't exactly the greatest either as a young horse, and as you said this afternoon when we were watching you riding Lieuwe, he hadnt a canter at all either, and now, it is beautifully light and uphill, as are Dom and Gen's. You always get a much better canter out of Sudi than me too! sad

Yeah, I know it looks as though I am making excuses for my own lack of skill whistle but I do truly think that your long legs help to engage the abs of the horse and really get that jump!! nod

Ahem, as Mr Aylmore's PA/agent I can announce that the Aylmore Classical Dressage official branded merchandise will soon be available! thumbs laugh (And yes we'll be the two plonkers sporting it at the next Rodrigo clinic Debbie!! rofl )

The prezzie's double meaning hadn't occurred to either of us when posting but has certainly given us both a good giggle Cheesy

Oooh! I need to clone you then so you can come and ride Rija for me - her canter has got  terrible (entirely my fault) ... it was described as being like a camel's. Those pictures are lovely.  thumbs

Well done Mike thumbs

Fab pics - he is a very striking boy.

I wonder if canter is more of an issue for the cobby types - Rolo really struggled to get his act together in canter - we only finally cracked left canter last year - when he was 7, but once it clicked, it was amazing Smiley

My cob struggles to get right canter lead and is more unbalanced in right canter than left, however it has improved as when I first got him, right canter involved more leaping, galloping and bucking than anything!
