How do you warm the horse's bit up?

Today I sat on it for a bit while I put my riding boots on - but that wasn't very effective. Then I held it in my hand - but that meant I had to take my gloves off so Tilly ended up with a warm bit and I ended up cold hands
So what method do you recommend for warming the bit up before tacking up?

We've got a hot water tap in our yard - run it under that then by the time you're ready to tack up, it's just right, I've found.

I leave the tack indoors until the very last minute so I brush horse and boot up then go back for the tack, when carrying bridle out to the stable over a shoulder I try to shove the bit in my pocket and then put the bridle on the horse first before the saddle.

Phew, I was reading this thread thinking
what a bad owner I am!!! I never warm Minnie's bit up, but have to say it never feels that cold
Kept in stone tackroom so nowhere heated but is a Sprenger which is supposed to be made of a warmer softer metal. She never seems to object anyway and am sure she would

Sprenger and NS bits stored in warm tackroom which is in the same barn as the stables so the situation does not arise.

I didn't know there were so many lucky bits out there
No wonder they get all warmed up
I don't think my wife would appreciate me lending her bosom for warming the bit so my mare has to accept the bit cold, too, I'm afraid
