Isnt there a danger of making everything mean 'ride well' tho? I mean, if rhythm needs forward, forward needs on the aids, on the aids needs forward, lossyglossywhatsit (LGW) needs all the above, and forward and rhtymn need LGW then what are the building blocks?

you cannot then score them seperatately, i.e. good rhtymn, bad LGW, if everything needs everything?

which makes me think, go back to my original thing of ride the damn horse thats under you, ignore the theory!  whistle

Everything hinges on starting and stopping to a degree.

Agreed  Shocked throw away the books, forget the theory, use your brain/instinct and listen to your horse...I think I've learned as much that way as from any other source  devil

Which is hard to debate on a forum without it just being criticism!

oh god, we have gone zen suddenly - dont think, just do, dont use words, use the action itself, no map, just landscape,
there is no time, there is only now. one day a young monk asked a senior monk the meaning of zen. The senior monk threw him over the bridge to his death.

I think i have had to omuch tea and argued with too many clients today...

on a more concrete note, that is probably OT, but i was talking to my friend about a horse that i am riding for her mother in law (one of those that started me thinking about forward). She used to try to event it. Anyway she said

' i never liked riding him because the connection seemed to stop halfway up his neck - his mouth didnt have anything to do with the rest of his body'

me

'yes it makes me wonder if he was put in draw reins before'

her

' well, yes, i certainly put him in draw reins.'

me -  doh

'nice weather, eh'
 doh doh doh
