This is SO exciting - my book has just arrived from Amazon, all shrink wrapped and enticing - can't wait to get stuck in.... only thing is that I'm deep into Jilly Cooper's latest novel about NH racing (that's another one to review, complete trash but such complete escapism and I'm longing to read at every spare minute!) so it'll just have to wait a few days.

That's excellent !  I've had several notes from Amazon saying availability is delayed for the book, but hopefully my copy will be with me soon as well.

If you have too many horses already, no room at the inn, and you love a Baroque horse.......... it may be safest NOT to read this book!!!   whistle  laugh

Only read a few chapters - started on them whilst hiding from the snow - and it's just BEAUTIFUL.

I hadn't realised it was a translation of a book published around 10 years ago.  PK puts a note in the foreword about a couple of things he's changed this thoughts on since then, which I think is helpful.

It follows one horse, Odin, from the first time PK met him, through all his training, and it's written in a really interesting way.

I love it!

........ and I'd also now love my own lusitano!!!  One free with every book (I don't think!)   thumbs

Better get back to the fireside to read more.

You mean it's the same one as the one in French on Odin?  I have that one from a few years back, and it will be great to compare them side by side for proper translation!!!  I have a Michel Henriquet book in both versions too -- very helpful!
