I have just come back from spending the last couple of days at Heather's nervous riders seminar.  I just wanted to say a huge thank you to her and everyone else there for making it such a great experience.  I felt that I have learnt so much in two days, not just about riding but about myself as well, I faced the fear, but I did it, and it was a bit of an emotional journey.  A few of us made big decisions while we were there, about our horses and what had made us fearful and what we were going to do about it.  I really didn't want to come home in some ways, as I wanted to carry on learning! I think that's a sign of a really good teacher.  Heather inspires such confidence and her knowledge of how to put across just what we needed to do to improve our riding, made it all seem like 'now why were we not shown how to do it this way right in the beginning!'  It's just like getting the last piece of the jigsaw to complete the picture.  Heather inspired all of us in different ways and we were all wanting to keep in touch with Heather to show her how we would have improved.  For myself, I am now really encouraged that I am going to be able to ride well enough to do justice to my own horse when I get one.  I can't wait to send some pictures to Heather when I find him or her!

If anyone has any doubts about going on one of the seminars, don't have any, you will come back, fired with enthusiasm, full of knowledge, and have made friends from all over the country, and you will have the enlighted way to ride firmly fixed in your seatbones!

p.s  The Bed and Breakfast at Merlewood Cottage was recommended from this site and it was just like staying with a member of your own family, and Heather you were right, Alick's breakfasts are legendary!

Thanks again

Janice, where did you do the seminar...that doesn't look like the same shed as I was in for the October one!!!
As a matter of interest what is covered in the nervous riding seminar that is different from the normal one?

Hi Karen
The "shed"  has been renovated by Heathers dad,he has worked very hard to ensure that it is wind proof and its now very warm and John also painted it so it looks fab.
SO 3 cheers for Heathers dad cos we couldnt do it without his help.
