Tip for riding with longer stirrups

Im going to start thinking of it now even though cant ride atm but my first thing is to concentrate on getting my stirrups longer
Am I the only one who manages to go downhill in riding, I found a pic of me 10 years ago

Better to be riding with your b*m in the right place and shortish stirrups than over-lengthening your stirrups and find you are tipping.....

That would be assuming I sat right with short stirrups which I dont
Edited to add maybe the way to go is do what I did when I was younger and just take my stirrups off and go out riding for few hours

atm its a lemetex jumping saddle Heather so couldnt get any worse but will be shortly changed to something more suitable
