A while back Heather expressed an interest in pictures of Knight's Enlightened Equitation saddle collection and I'v just had time to get these on.  Pardon our somewhat reluctant model, Knight is expressing that it's much to close to dinner time to model saddles.

Nancy, I just wish all customers were as loyal as you! The one I regret not being on the market the most? That Thorowgood! It was such a good entry level saddle with the bars in the right place!

Loyalty for good reason Heather, I've found all of your saddles excellent.  That's why I have a hard time letting them go.  I so agree about the Thorowgood, much more comfortable for both horse & rider than any other synthetic I've ever used.

Sell them on!  Nope, can't bear to let them go.  They've all got their use and it's way to hard to find saddles in the US that are even close in quality or comfort.

That's better than me! The only one of those I haven't had is the Easisit.  laugh Although I do have a Mk1 Fhoenix and Paul has a St.Merryn and SBS.  wink  I tried the Thorowgood for Whisper but it was too long for her which was a shame, it is a great saddle.  nod

I had that thorowgood too but it was too narrow on my horse.  I sold it on but really regret it now. I should have just given it as a pressie to my friend's horse that i ride as it fitted brilliantly  ouch

Another one who loved the thorowgood, but just couldn't get it wide enough for Safi  sad

Wish I'd never sold my Easisit either grrrrrr.

I've owned or loaned all bar the Vogue, quite happy with the original model Fhoenix and never felt the need to upgrade it  thumbs

There is a Thorowgood one on e-bay at the moment. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Black-17-5-med-wide-Thorowgood-saddle-/150472833609?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Horse_Wear_Equipment&hash=item2308e13a49

I had four at one stage but they sadly didn't fit, still have Heather sadles though, a St Merryn and an Easisit.

I've just got to ask, which is your favourite and why?

Also - the flexion supreme is looking fab on Knight (lovely model btw  thumbs) I snapped up Helen's when she sold it on here. I LOVE it but I'm struggling to get it right on Toby (he is a NIGHTMARE to fit), it drops down at the front and slide back (all saddles slide back on him  rolleyes) Just about to try some different padding this afternoon. He has a wide and huge shoulder, high withers and a low-slung back.

I remember riding in an easi-sit once and loved it. My favourite treed saddle of all time though is the one Heather has on her simulator - gorgeous. I can never remember which one it is but I could have sat in it for hours. So comfortable.

A favorite, oh that's a tough question.  But both Knight & I would I think vote for the Vogue first just for the pure comfort for both of us ( Knight loves his smartpanel alot).  But the easisit would be a close second for both of us, the tree just happens to be perfect for Knight and I like to use it to give him a change from the Vogue.  I like being able to give them a change of saddle now and again, I think their back benefits from some change, plus I just couldn't bear to part with the easisit cause it fits us both so well.  This choice for dressage.  But we both love the comfort of the thorowgood when Knight talks me into a few jumps which he greatly enjoys, but I am such a chicken about jumping.  I admit I just couldn't resist the flexion supreme when I had a chance to buy it, gorgeous looking and comfy, but the seat is very shallow for me for dressage and I'm vaguely insecure somehow.  Knight thinks it's as comfy as the others.  Hope you have succcess in getting your flexion supreme to work for Toby, such lovely saddles.

Sorry for the thread interrupt, but looking at the picture of your Vogue I realise mine must be sitting tilted down at the front.

I have a suberpad, but that pressed down over her withers too much and no matter what I did to it (using it wet, arranging it) the corck would always end up being more at the front than the back.  She started getting little pressure wounds on the top of her withers so I switched back to the wedge shaped panels.  I felt more unstable on them than on the pad but they fitted her nicely so I just put up with it.

However seeing how much 'higher' your Vogue is at the front mine must be doing this = /
So uhm... I've got some extra little padding uhm pads would sliding them between the panels at the front help?

I'm tempted by the smartpanel but my collection of 'bits' I end up not using is getting too large and quite frankly too expensive!  Though I might keep an eye on a second hand one  wink
