What a fab picture. Never mind happy as a pig in mug - happy as a clean horse who's just found the muddy bit

The beautiful boy will always be with you in your heart and mind. Now pain and stress free, simply Rocky the Magnificent!

So, so sorry.
To say the final decision is never easy is a great big understatement. However, if it's any help, I know from my own experiences that the decisions I've left too late are the ones I've regretted; those when I knew I'd picked exactly the right moment I've never regretted at all.

:cry:you are so so right. I think because we know our horses so well, we know absolutely when the right time comes, and yes we can only do what is right for them, regardless of what the pain will be for us.
Today, I was speaking to my daughter who had held him for me. We agreed that he had lost his 'spark', just in the day or two before he went. That look that he always had, the one that says ''look at me'' had somehow gone, replaced by a sad boy who didn't know how to show me that he wasn't coping, so he ate wood!.
Everyone who has been where I am, will understand only too well the pain, but then there are the memories that are wonderful.

I felt so
to read this, and understand totally what you are feeling having been there - but as you rightly say, you will have wonderful memories and he will live on in your heart forever. You did everything you possibly could have for him and knew when the time was right to let him go. What a beautiful picture to remember him by
