I went to watch Gillian Higgins last night. I have seen her demo before and it is well worth a repeat visit, but her DVD  thumbs It is a must see. I am very, very, very  impressed. I now have both of her books and the DVD and it is one of the best £50 I have ever spent. I've put this is general those those who are nto full members have access.

Hi Jill,

I havent seen Gillian's lecture demo yet, but know her and have heard nothing but brilliant reports of the demo. I have just never been in the area when there has been one, always away on work commitments, although Gillian's Mum Shirley keeps me updated! I must at least buy the DVD though.

I went to a demo at Damian's earlier this year and was very impressed  thumbs  I too have the DVD and books, well, you just have to don't you  laugh

I'd love to see a Gillian/Heather collaboration featuring classical riding techniques ... maybe at Damian's so it's not too far to travel  whistle

Not studied the book yet but it is the motion possible with the DVD which does it for me. Mind you there is a lot in it. i am watching whilst typing but will need to have several bites to absorb it properly. It is far more anatomical and in depth than the demo. My day job involves human anatomy too, so anybody whose anatomy is tad rusty may very well need lots of short bites

Gillian trains with Mary Wanless, folks.  nod I think you will find that there may well be some collaborative demos between them at some point.

Sorry if I am costing everybody money,  Embarrassed but just think how virtuous we will all feel when our horses are supple and have the best posture we can give them.

I already had the book, then thanks (ahem! wallbash) to Mossy, just got the DVD too.

There was me thinking that avoiding the Books and DVD's section was enough to save me money, how wrong was I?

You should have gone to Nutwell last night then you would have had a cracking evening and saved yourself £11! I would even have picked you up on the way past.

I was very lucky to do my CR instructor training with Susan Harris, who has been doing her "Visible Horse" demos for years and years and years.  Having seen both, I'd say I prefer Susan's demos, but Gillian's are good too!  Susan is based in New York state, so not that accessible for us English folk...  I think you can buy a DVD of The Visible Horse too...  wink

Susan and her friend Peggy Brown (also a CR instructor) pioneered using a painted horse together with a rider in a skeleton suit to show the interaction of horse and rider.  I notice that Gillian has been doing something similar with Mary Wanless too, again, a great idea and well worth a watch.  Smiley
