Introduction and question on Pessoa training aid

Hello I'm a new member - Adele from Gloucestershire
Anyone got any opinions on a Pessoa? My farrier has just recommended it for my 4 year old Sec D X AQH and my husband's Sec D x Trakehner who needs schooling and muscling up. Farrier says his wife has had great success using it with her elem dressage warmblood. The trakky doesn't know how to lunge (and he's 10!) and the 4 year old is still unbalanced. I'm not into forcing horses into outlines but I keep hearing good reviews about the Pessoa as a training aid.
By the way, I'm Phillippa's cousin, but don't let that put you off!

Hi,
I like it, provided it is used softlyto encourage what you want not force a "result" Also it is hard work for a horse to lunge in a pessoa so little and often and lots of warm up warm down before and after wards. Wrongly used it can do serious damage!!!

Hi Adele and welcome!
Philippa had said you were going to join!
Why not repost this question in Horse Training as Philippa suggests, as I am using a pessoa at the moment for a remedial programme of lunging for my horse who was damaged by the transporters in transit from Portugal a year ago this month. My referral vets and physio are great believers in the Pessoa for this sort of work to rebuild the muscle.
