I know I did an intro a few months ago - but I had problems with my Paypal and never got round to doing the full subscription - so couldn't really post!!

So I have now done it and paid - just waiting to be able to post!

So thought I'd say hi again. I did an intro on my boys before: Bert my Shetland pony who is still out on loan, and Snip - who is still desperately unwell.

Last time I intro'd I think we were still investigating the possible return of ulcers - but after a lot more investigation we have a confirmed diagnosis of EPSM, and unfortunately also a diagnosis of actual muscle damage too. He's now on total field rest (again) and have had to make another insurance claim to cover all the therapies he's getting. He goes in for his biopsy on 21st June to give us an idea of the extent of the damage.

I'm gutted to be losing another year of riding, so I'm currently on the look out for a summer project, something to take on and bring on a bit over the summer (not for money making purposes) so that I get to carry on doing what I love doing whilst Snip takes the time he needs to try and recover.

Bit bored and scouring the internet looking at ponies and spotted this chap - don't know if he's the sort of project you're thinking of? http://www.projecthorses.co.uk/viewad.asp?id=50274125388100732

LOL...yes he's TOO much my type! hehe...I had seen him and was tempted.

I'm looking at something that is less my normal type, so that I'm likely to be able to part with him or her at the end of the summer - I should have a nice little saving amount next year to buy my dream dressage youngster....can't end up with 3 horses!!! lol

Hehe! yeah that sounds about right! I could definitely only do grey for summertime - I'm too much of a neat freak to do grey and mud!!

I'm looking for something chunky and fun, green but simple, something that I can not get on for a day or so if Snip reqires my attention, and then get back on without fear of death!

Have got a potential in the pipeline....

Just because I'm bored...here's some of the latest pics of my boy - taken just as he seemed to be coming right....before it all went wrong once again...

Hard to believe how unwell he is when he looks like this

Hi and welcome  wave

Ooh he's a pretty boy, sorry to hear that he is so poorly  cry

If buying a horse to bring on with the aim of selling in the future then don't do what I did!  doh My project youngster I bought as a yearling to bring on a bit and sell the following season having done a bit of inhand showing is, er, rising 4 and still with me  Embarrassed  Sadly though he hasn't made the height he was meant to and so I will probably have to sell him, which 2 years or so later is going to be harder than if I had listened to my head and sold him when I should have done  wallbash You live you learn I suppose  rolleyes ...

Thanks...I hate to see him so uncomfortable, things aren't looking so good for him if he doesn't come right.

If he's happy and field sound then I'm happy to keep him as a big, expensive, difficult and time consuming pet...hopefully with time he'll be up to some light work, but if I can't get him 'right' by October then I will seriously have to consider letting him go. End of October seems to be his 'time to go really wrong' time of year....if he's not right by then, then winter would be too unfair on him. He's been through too much already in his 7 years.

But in the meantime, I can keep hoping and hoping and hoping that we get a miracle.

Hi Trouble,
It was due to you and Snip on IHDG, that I realised my boy Rei must have ulcers, and despite my vets not thinking so, I insisted on having him scoped and I was right. But so very sorry to hear that Snip is still not right. No one could have done more than you have to try to get him sorted, but it must be so frustrating for you, as he is such a beautiful horse.  sad

Great to see you here anyway- think you will find lots of kindred spirits!
