Heather Moffett will be giving an evening lecture/demonstration on Friday 18 June from 7pm at Quob Stables Equestrian Centre, Durley, Nr Southampton, Hampshire, SO32 2AR.

In the first half of the evening, Heather will be riding a horse she has not previously ridden to demonstrate the rights and wrongs of riding, the use of weight aids and correct use of the seat.  There will be a break for refreshments followed by 3 riders being taught individually by Heather, preferably on their own horses.

There will be lots of opportunities for questions in both parts of the evening.

Cost is £13.50 for EE members in advance, £15 non-members and £20 on the door if there are any tickets still available.

If anyone would like to be one of the three guinea pig riders please let me know.  It would cost you only the price of the entrance ticket for a 40 minute private lesson with Heather.   This is open to novice through to advanced riders.  Quob Stables are a 15-20 minute drive from Junction 7 on the M27.

Please contact Lee Clatworthy on lee@ridinginharmony.co.uk to reserve places - no tickets will be issued but your name will be put on a list at the door.  Cheques to be made payable to Dr Lee Clatworthy and sent to Lee at 3 Honeysuckle Cottage, 186 Honeysuckle Road, Southampton SO16 3BW. Please write your cheque guarantee number on the back of the cheque along with your name, address and contact telephone number.

If you have any questions please contact Lee.

Great  thumbs thumbs thumbs Robin and I will be there thumbs  thumbs  thumbs

Heather  wave I'm not brave enough to ride in front of an audience but if there's any chance of a private lesson whilst your over this way please put me at the top of your list as we really need your help.

My Boy is also on offer if you want to ride him to demonstrate the rights and wrongs of riding.

I'm doing a day at Junes (Fir Tree Farm on Thursday, but think it may already be full Roo!). But I may be able to do a day on the Saturday elsewhere if there is enough interest? I would like to do a one day workshop for 6 riders same as I did in Wales. It worked really well- did 3 groups of 2 in the morning and same 2 groups again in the afternoon, with a short dismounted session just after lunch. They want me back again for October anyway!

I've mailed Lee & put myself forward as a guinea pig, but if the gp places are already taken, I'd be up for a local lesson at any reasonably local venue - I might be, even if I do do gp, depending on where, if places aren't taken by others who've not had the chance to have a session with H.  I'd offer my own yard as a venue, but we only have an outdoor arena - no indoor, I'm afraid.

Lee said you had volunteered, Clare, but my only concern is that you havent enough faults in your riding to make a significant change for the audience to see!   nod But which horse would you be riding and does this need some work that could show a real change in way of going?

Hadn't yet made it general knowledge that Heather was teaching here as I was pretty sure that we would fill it immediately here.  nod  I am just waiting for a couple of people to confirm they can make it (work commitments etc).  If anyone cant make it I will of course advertise the places.  Spectator places available, H charges £10 for the day, but please remember we are outdoors.  Would be great to meet some more EEers.

Coo!  That's very kind of you to say H!  Makes a difference from how I think about my own riding!   laugh

If I were to, I would ride my own mare Tia, black Welsh Sec D in my sig, Bree's mum.  She has issues with softness & tension & rushing.  Her default setting is forward & rush & tense up, and while she has a beautiful trot usually, she always tries to pull out horrid stuffy pony trot, without work.  I don't help her, as I also tend to get tense, if out of my comfort zone.  Plus she is inclined to go above the vertical & nose poke if she can.  She is an incredibly sensitive mare, and does go off weight aids.  I'm afraid she wouldn't be a good candidate for your good/bad riding bit, as she'd be horribly offended by the 'bad' bit!  She is a bit of a diva sometimes!   rolleyes

She is a lovely mare, and you know I am a fan of Welsh Sec D's, Clare, so bring her if you would like to!  nod

Unfortunately even if a space comes up I've got to go into work on the Thursday.  sad

Perhaps I'll just kidnap you on the Saturday morning for a private lesson before you travel back.  devil  devil
