One extra thing from me... Candy was a horrid loader as a youngster (unfortunately I didnt have transport then and she had to go to and from the vets a few times which meant no time to train and hired transport - ugh).

One thing that definitely helped when we came to train it the way I wanted to was to make sure your leadrope was long enough - the last thing you want to do if she suddenly takes fright and backs off the ramp is be forced to "chase" her off it (ie get dragged!!!)...

I found I needed enough to be able to allow Candy to go backwards as much as she wanted without being forced to move myself - if I tried stopping her, she'd rear (and go over backwards regularly) - if I went with her I panicked her more...

nod Thanks Candy Pony, I switched leads on the day we brought her home for the very same reason.       I have a natural horsemanship type rope which is much longer than a normal lead rope, but not so long as a lunge line (which I found I got tangled up in  doh), so will use that.

I really appreciate all the advise I've gotten on here, its helped me loads and given me somewhere to start and ideas to try if we get a bit stuck.
