Well, I got the saddle a while back, and the saddler came out to it last night: needs narrowing as I knew it would but otherwise (despite buying it being very much a long shot) he is really impressed with it for my odd shaped hoss!
He has recommended using a prolite pad under (and allowing for this when SC narrow it down a touch) as he felt the panel could ideally be slightly deeper for him with his current muscle but that the prolite would do this job nicely whilst allowing him space to build up under it. That seemed to be his only criticism.
Interestingly, he felt it was the set back stirrup bars which really made it work on Lance. He felt if the bars were in the normal place, even though the saddle itself is good fit, it would be more inclined to sit too heavy and down in front on horses like L with a straight shoulder so slight hollows behind them. However with the bars back, the weight and pressure is better centred for him, and regardless of helping the rider, that in itself helps the fit and balance of the saddle: I think he was quite impressed
