My daughter, EmmaR, has asked me to post the following:
"I haven’t posted on here for a while but some of you may remember Saffy. Sadly I lost my beautiful girl to colic this morning.
She started with what initially looked like a straight forward impaction yesterday evening and appeared to pick up over night but colicked again this morning and it looks like there was possibly some underlying condition which caused the colic. The vet did everything she could but Saffy failed to respond to treatment and I didn't feel it was fair to put her through surgery and the long recovery process that would follow had it been successful. She was put to sleep at the yard which has been her home for the past nine months and where she has been very happy."

Oh Debbie, So sorry to hear this. Colic I think is one of the major dreads of any horse owner, have lost several to it myself over the years, and nothing prepares you for it. A big hug to Emma . Heather
