Hi,

I purchased a second hand Original Fhoenix about 4-5 months ago....all going very well, our slipping problems are sorted totally, we both like the saddle alot.

Today i noticed that when i girthed her up the girth straps come really far forward at the point where it joins the saddle (so its pos 'bunching' maybe) - its the original fhoenix so doesnt have the Y girthing system, its just got a wide square webbing section.

Should i be concerned about this? I use a thorowgood dressage girth - its the only girth which she seems to like. I will try to get pics tomoz of the problem.

Thanks

Mattes do a fantastic asymmetric girth perfect for forward cut girth grooves Smiley

I don't think the angled girth straps on the Fhoenix are necessarily a problem, so long as your horse isn't uncomfortable and it isn't pulling the saddle forward. My girls are all hugely fat and so their big bellies make them have a forward girth groove but only Rija needs a curved girth with the Fhoenix (mine is the same model as your's) the others have a Thorowgood girth.
