I have always wanted to train and gain my BHSAI since I was 10! Started the course once, but had to go into hospital so that ended that. Other training courses, kids, life etc have all come along and still I haven't got my AI. Recently hit the big 40 and feel its now or never!!LOL.

Is there room and the need for another BHSAI/BHSPTT in south east Kent?

I have held Monty Roberts Certificate in Horsemanship & equine body worker cert for teh last 8 and 10 years.

Any help, advice etc welcomed guys and girls. xx

I think there's always room for good instructors... whether or not they're BHS trained.... you could do Heathers teacher training - I did and I'm teaching at a riding school without any BHS exams!

Good luck!  thumbs

As an aged BHS'er who went through the system years ago and now tends to look with very raised eyebrows  at some of the  youngsters i see coming through the system, I would say go for it - the BHS needs people who are able to see outside the box and are prepared to think through and adopt other methods to help their pupils achieve their potential.
At this momentious   whistle stage in your life you will be strong enough to question the "accepted" because you have your own practical experience  as a strong base.
Good luck wave

Thanks for advice and suggestions. My area is somewhat saturated with instructors, BHS and others unqualified. The idea of becoming a EE instructor sounds interesting. It has also been suggested to learn about centered riding. I am hoping that my experience with training problem horses, (owners...) will come in handy too.

Hi Katherine,

We do indeed do teacher training and there is always room for more! Where are you situated in the SE? Monty Roberts is now a member of EE, as is Kelly who is a good friend of mine. We advocate IH methods as they combine very well with our classical riding methods.
