Yesterday, in the arena, I clicked and treated Del.  He very gently took the treat from my hand. So what you may say.  Well, 9 months ago, when I started clicker training with him, my hand literally disappeared into his mouth a couple of times as he lunged for the treat.  He could not believe he was ever going to get another one.  Slowly but surely he has learned to be polite; and we have learned to trust each other.

Ahh wonderful.

My August was like that when I first had him, not as bad as Del probably, but he had clearly never been fed from the had before and would take half your hand as well as the treat.  laugh

He was a sensitive chap though and as my natural response was to squeal and pull my hand away, the treat would usually get lost. He soon learned that if he was very careful he wouldn't lose the treat on the floor.  rolleyes
