I'm confused... when I start a thread - or reply to one, I can type so much and then the screen stops scrolling down as I type... which means that I have to constantly scroll down and then type "blind" as it immediately jumps back up again...

why does it do this?  Am I just writing too much??!?

Only way I've found to bypass it is to type my reply in word and then copy and paste it into this little text box!

sounds like someone else - Diane? - is having the same problem!

It happens to me whenever I write anything on the forum that is longer than the size of the box without a scrollbar, whether I'm creating a new thread, or just replying to one...Has done for ages!

I tried to reproduce this problem (vic tried too) but couldn't.. I'll see if i can find any reference to it on the SMF board.

Only thing that i notice is the majority of those experiencing this seem to be using old versions of browsers and in particularly internet explorer... i wonder if it's a problem unique to that.. i'll give that a try too (although i don't have IE on any of my machines (it's that bad).. IE should be version 8 (update through windows update) or for firefox you should be on 3.5.5.

I'm on Firefox at work but don't post much from here - on IE explorer at home where I've noticed the problems but it should be an up to date version as is on my brand new laptop Undecided.

Hmm this is IE 7.. and i don't seem to have the problem here either.. very odd, there's a blacked out scroll bar on the right, which becomes active as soon as i get to the bottom. On Firefox there is no bar, but it appears when you get to the bottom of the box.

Well, at least it's not just me!!! laugh

Weirdly it used to be fine - it's a relatively new problem for me - and happens on my laptop and at work... don't know how to tell you what version they are?

This has just recently started happening to me too, although not at work, but at home on new PC - very annoying, although now I just cut and paste stuff in from a word document when I am writing anything long.
