My sympathies to you and your family. As the others said, the first year is the hardest; the loss, the heart is still sore from greaving. All is still very fresh wihin our body and soul.

But, judging by my own experience after I lost my Dad, that dreaded anniversary came and it simply passed by.

Time heals. One day you'll be able to cheerish good memories without feeling so much pain.
